Munin Barua

Munin Barua ((アッサム語:মুনিন বৰুৱা)) is one of the prominent Assamese film director as well as a famous name in Assamese cultural world. ''Pita-Putro'', ''Prabhati Pokhir gaan'', ''Hiya Diya Niya'', ''Daag'', ''Nayak'' are some his highly popular Assamese movies. He had created a new era in the late 90's in Assamese Film Industry. In 2000, his film Hiya Diya Niya created history as 'blockbuster hit' in Assamese cinema, which also helped to revive the Assamese film industry. His film ''Dinabandhu'' received National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Assamese in 2005. He is popularly known as ''Bhaimon da''.
==Early life==
Barua was born in 1947 at Khumtai in Golaghat district, Assam. His father was late Hemendra Nath Barua and mother is Latika Barua. His father was the mouzadar in Khumtai mouza. He is the youngest in his family.
